Hello and welcome

Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Emma Buchanan and I have been designing and making jewellery since 2005. After being invited to a prestigious event, I rushed out to buy my dream outfit, the same however, couldn't be said for the matching jewellery and accessories. I had in mind a very clear picture of what I wanted but was unable to find it anywhere. After exhausting the shops of London, I took a trip to Brighton to see what their stores had to offer. After a tiresome day I was about to give in when I stumbled across what I thought to be a jewellery boutique. I soon realised that what I had actually found was a bead store which would begin a fantastic journey. After about 5 minutes in the shop I quickly realised that I could buy the components needed to make exactly what I wanted. During the night of the event I was amazed by the number of comments I received about my jewellery and decided that from then on I would always have the perfect accessories for every outfit. I was soon receiving requests from friends and family for their very own one-off pieces and thus Urban Sophistication Designs was born.

I have always adhered to my rule of never making more than one of any exact design so you can be sure that you will always have a truly unique and special piece. The only exception to this rule is for commissioned pieces where identical pieces may be requested.

All of my pieces are created using materials of the highest quality, sourced from within the UK and where possible are environmentally friendly. These materials include sterling silver findings, silver plated findings, gold plated findings, glass beads, semi-precious stones and acrylic beads to name but a few.

I completely understand that as individuals we all have our own styles and tastes and even then these can change daily. With this in mind I hope you find a great deal of choice amongst my work.
